grayanotoxin iii

Grayanotoxin III activates Na+ ion channels affecting their polarization state. This produces an effect on the voltage-dependent Ca2+ channels, increasing influx of Ca2+, and leading to subsequent release of GABA and glutamates and presentation of excitotoxicity.
