The primary research objectives of my lab include screening known and novel drugs to understand their precise mechanism of action. We have developed high-throughput assays that identify drug targets in an agnostic manner and in a cellular context. Specifically, these robust genome-wide assays reveal all genes required for growth in the presence of drug and candidate targets using the model organism yeast S. cerevisiae. Each experiment provides a rich resource for the discovery of the relationship between genes, drugs and biological processes. The lab continues to improve and expand its these automated technologies, which include the development of robust bioinformatic and cheminformatics methodologies that allow translation into mammalian systems.
