Variant Analysis
This page explores and analyzes different types of variants in each individual, heterozygosity, etc., with a link to all the processed VCF files.
Type of different variants in AA lion individuals when aligned to the domestic cat (felCat9), tiger (PanTig1.0), leopard (PanPar1.0) and African lion (PanLeo1.0) reference genomes

Genes and variants linked to specific traits in captive lions (AA and captive supplemental lions) are displayed. Genes exclusive to AA lions are highlighted in yellow and any genes with variants found in wild supplemental lions have been omitted

Number of individual lion variants observed when the AA genomes were aligned to the cat (felCat9), tiger (PanTig1.0), leopard (PanPar1.0) and African lion (PanLeo1.0) reference genomes. 15 variants label indicates variants detected in all 15 AA lions. 2-14 variants are the ones found in 2-14 AA lions. Unique variants are those variants that were detected in only 1 AA lion when all AA lions were called for that specific locus

Distribution of the variants detected in 15 Addis Abada lions across different genomic regions and types of the variants across the exonic regions of the genome
